The sports this year are brutal! Japan is placing a lot better than I thought they would. I'm just as glad as Sho! Meanwhile, my boy has like zero pride for his country lol.

Yeah. Compared to the strength in a lot of the other teams, they may not look great, but compared to their own previous competitions, they are killing it and I am happy for them. I like watching the Olympics. Sports, on the daily, not so much. But the Olympics yes.
He just doesn't have much in the sense of national pride. Of course, he's happy to be Japanese, but he doesn't care at all in terms of rankings. I could tell him Japan was the first to discover humanoid life on another planet and he'd be all "Oh okay. Nice. Are we going to the market today?"
