Hey have you read Hiro-san's letter about the LDH World thingie? My head is spinning thinking of all of that, I can't help thinking they're putting too much on their plates.
As for the bribery, I can believe it, the entertainment business works on backroom deals and stuff like that. It's the same everywhere, in the western entertainment industry, in the Asian ones, they function the same way. And the main point is that it doesn't change the fact that their quality artists, it's just that having quality =/= success in the industry. You need public appeal *and* a good backing/a good jimusho *and* connection, and sometimes things fall together and create success.
It's the same thing with JE, and all other big jimushos. Big awards bring the general public's attention to their artists, so they'd make sure they get the favorable ones, but I generally don't put much weight in them. I don't even put much weight in the Grammy's (a messy mix of catering to the popular artists and being out of touch with better talents with less backing) or the Academy Awards (very out of touch with the talents out there)
So yeah, it's how the business function, it's not right but they have to play the game. I don't put it past Hiro-san to do this cause he's a good game player.
